The Paul Report:  Hit the Rehobeth circle at around 12pm for peak low tide and saw some fun knee to waist clean little rollers breaking off of the jetties with very light winds. After about two hours of fun little waves the tide started to shift and the waves rapidly became crappy. We shifted down to NSIRI and while Mike and I ahd had enough, Mark decided he would go out for another round in the mushy but clean little dumpers though over time the South winds became a problem. All in all, not a bad day...

The Chet Halleck Report:  The incoming tide on Saturday afternoon brought clean knee to waist tubettes. We had a late start out of DC and by the time we rolled into Lewes/Rehoboth, we headed directly to EofM to pick up my 3' paipo. The guys were pulling on full rubber and grabbing the longboards. They closed the shop for an hour and we watched them pick off small, clean barrels at Russ's home break.

There is a distressing lack of sand on the beaches. Most jetties appear as islands during high tide. Walk down the NJ path at high tide and step off into water.  The fence on the east side of the parking lot is poised to tumble - to the right, a large section of fence has collapsed to the beach. At low tide, south of the jetty, cedar stumps speckle what's left of the beach.  North of the jetty the surf zone looks stump free, most likely the result of erosion to large sections of the dunes. Gordon's Pond has lost 50' to 80' of beach. South of GP, Bulldozers have been enlisted to build up the front dunes for the McMansions.  I spent a few hours
watching the jetty breaks, trying to get a feel for the bottom topography.  From the north side of the park, south to Dewey, away from the jetties there are a handful of "new" sandbars that produced speedy little waves.

It's all about the ocean, and waves.
