The Paul Report:  Surfed 48th street O.C. today in cold foggy conditions. Surf was waist to shoulder high and very choppy and unpredictable. There were a surprising number of people out though. Good news is the new 6/4 worked like a champ and the 5mm gloves and boots kept the extremities intact...

The Foon Report:  As reported by Todd, OC was pretty grim today with dense fog until mid morning and choppy cold rainy conditions. I went up to Rehobeth and IRI was just as bad. Local weather reports claim the winds will come around and clear out the clouds and rain Sunday but jump up to 25 mph from the NW. A sheltered break may do the trick but the swell was only waist to chest tonight. If I get a chance I'll report again Sunday afternoon.
The Kirk Report:  As everyone has reported thus far, conditions were weird and cold on Saturday. Neal and I got kind of a late start (Bay Bridge 630AM), knowing that the tides were screwy and with predicted 3-5' swell, the tide swing shouldn't make too much difference.

Despite the Friday presence of internet weenies trying to kill our positive vibe, we rolled up to Assateague-north around 8:30, stoked and anticipating a good session. From the shore break, we couldn't even see the outside due to fog. We paddled out on our "cheater shortboards," and as soon as the fog started to clear through the water, we got hit with a cleanup set. That 38 degree water will wake you up. We still got outside without any problem and tried to scope through the fog where the waves were breaking. We found a decent peak about 200' north of where we paddled out, that was showing long, crumbly lefts and sectiony rights. Neil picked off a few fun rights and worked through the closeout sections. I didn't do too much--I never really warmed up in my 4/3. Waves were definitely 3-5', but mushy and powerless. Continued to just freeze out in the rain, and took a nice little left in after about an hour. A couple lookers showed up but no one looked motivated to paddle out.

Saw Todd and Chris Smith as they showed up, watched them surf for a little while before even standing on the beach became too frigid. More guys showing up and deciding it was too cold...just driving off. Snapped a few pics of Chris and Todd, and headed back for the western shore, dreaming of Costa conditions.... 57 days away.

The Todd Report:  yeah... i didn't have too much luck either really.. it was odd conditions and very cold... after nearly 3 hours i couldn't feel my feet at all, it started to pour. we just decided to leave and find some warm eats...
The Pauly Wrap Up:  I think we should all get our money back...all I got for 2 hours effort was a weak little ride, a sore back, and a bunch of cold water bailouts.
