The call for compatriots
came mid week, with only one sole answering the call. Sulking from missing
the clean 4 footers on Thursday, Chris Smith and Kieran Shea load up head
east form the Parole meeting spot. Little to no traffic landed us at the
NJs pre dawn, arriving at the parking lot overlook with just
enough light to see some nice pealing waves, not an epic day but it looked
fun. The longboarders were in true form with Kieran winning the size
contest, a custom 10'2" Pearson arrow and my 10' Driftwood and borrowed
10' RRD (epoxy board) rounded out a nice set. We paddled out along the
jetty at almost exactly low tide and had caught several waves before the
sun had even broke the surface of the ocean. A zen moment was had

For those wondering, both surfers were clad in 4/3 suits, Kieran's with a hole in it and the temps were described by both as comfortable. Water was probably in the mid 40s, sorry I forgot to check. Hope to see more of you next time, Chris
