Karrie

Minutes late Karrie follows up with another post, "Rod ya'll be hearin from my big butt tomorrow... so be forwarned.  LOL"

Rod responds late Sunday afternoon, "Karrie, Beautiful day at the beach on Sunday. Butt, your butt didn't do any talking to me ;)  Hope you made it down for some nice ones."

Karrie replies on Monday morning, " I made it down... I called ya cell phone.  I left ya a voicemail, maybe ya coulda had it on and answered or returned the message.  Yes, it was a beautiful day at the beach.  Went to Malibu's and Chauncey's for another pair of boardshorts and to check some of the selections of suits."

Rod responds, "I found your message on my office voice mail this morning. Sorry to have missed you! You could have met Foon, too. Apparently, Paul, Todd and Kirk were scattered about as well. Beautiful day."

HB Snake's Saturday Report
Just saw this report. 10th street early was the spot. Jeff Marlow and I surfed 10th st on Sat morning until around 10am when the close outs became bombers. The fog was thick but there were some smoking waves. When the tide got lower we headed up to 78th street to get a little better shape on the sholders. Didn't get on the road home until around 2pm. Was a great day for surfing. Only saw one other person in the water.

Paul's Surf Report Sunday
Waist to chest pretty clean waves at the Henlopen hotel, warm air temps and sun enabled me to put away the 6/4 and break out the 4/3. Let the good times roll. Heard in the circle parking lot: (sneering local voice), "This is turning into a kook spot". Was DEEPLY insulted and we almost went home crying, but decided to surf instead.

Toddzi11a's Sunday Report
haha.

me and kirk started at assateague around 830 or so, and it was kinda weird with a LONG paddle out..., then moved to south OC (39th). it was much better and glassy for a long time with waist to chest and sometimes head sets... i had the 4/3 on at teague and decided to throw on the 2/2 when we got to oc, the sun was way to hot for that other suit....it was very comfortable and man it felt good to get that extra flex back.....

sorry we didnt meet up... maybe next time

Kirk "Midnight Mono" Mantay's Uber Surf Report
Todd and I met up at the Bay 50 lot and headed southeast. With light offshores/sideshores predicted all morning and a low tide at mid-morning we weren't in a huge hurry. Paddled out at Assateague-Federal, where everyone was on longboards. We had only the
funboards, so were resigned to taking the death drops on the chest-1' OVH (not exaggerating) sandbar--pitching little lip on takeoff. The 62nd street guys were out there, getting into the waves early on their 10' longboards, and just making an easy drop--looked really fun. All our rides were at Mach 10 down the line, and then kick out before the closeout barrel. Wind turned out to be a non-factor all morning but after awhile we had taken enough of a beating and headed north. Everyone I met in the water was stoked and no vibing was to be had :)

Just for fun we paddled out at 37th street, site of the upcoming Toes on the Nose contest. When we got there (10am?), it was really pretty--hollow and chest-head (sets only), with most of my rides being in the chest-shoulder range. No one was out, so you know we were on it. As soon as we paddled out, we were nailing ride after ride--steep little takeoff to pitching walls. The swell all morning was a punchy ESE groundswell, as predicted. Soon (1 hour) after our arrival at 37th, the NE wind swell showed up, which
was the beginning of the end. Also, about 5 guys paddled out at 36th---all longboarders with one super talented shortboarder who only did pop-up takeoffs into the set waves! He was awesome! We got punished by late dropins, closeouts, etc., but the coverups and somewhat long lines made up for it. Eventually the NE windswell started really tearing into the ESE groundswell and it became really disorganized around 1pm. The weather was beautiful and it was just a great session all around.

Sorry to hear about your encounter at Henlopen. I've kinda written that place off until I see it actually line up, not just tubing takeoffs with nowhere to go. Every time I surf there it's dumpy bowls that really don't line up.
