ASC members attended the opening night for the "surf movie" Blue Crush followed by dinner and drinks at the Galway Bay Pub and Restaurant, in Annapolis. The gang had a great time hootin' and hollerin' at the movie's many crushing scenes, especially the 20' Pipeline closeouts towards the end of the show, and providing running commentary on the film's literary freedoms. I still can't figure out how those surfing chicks kept their small bikinis on in 2x o/h surf! Everyone except for Bruce and Toddzilla wrapped up a hilarious evening at the Galway... and some members even acquired new nicknames ;) Kirk, Robb and Neal were in top form with a continous run of jokes and stories that kept the group in stitches and tears. -- Rod

The Neal Report: I had a blast. It was fun getting together with everyone again. The movie was really an "after school special type movie." However, it had better surf footage than most holloywood movies that include the sport. I thought the producers did a good job of showing what it is like to be in the line up as large waves are rolling through. They did a good job of giving the viewer that "experience" of being out there. The surfing was ok. Had a better time at Galway Bay laughing and joking about Kirk's past employment. Fun time. Too bad everyone wasn't able to hangout for the after movie fun. It ain't like the old days anymore! -- Neal
