Borrowing dad's board for now.

Club Introduction: My name is Mark Vermillion. I am the son of George Vermillion. He has been talking this club up to me for some time now.  I've been out of surfing for a while (8 years perhaps), only returning very recently with a few trips down to the Delaware shore this summer. I was, however, very active in the sport when I lived in Spain. My surfing kind of fizzled out in the years after returning to the Crofton area. Partly because of the drive, partly because of my poor taste in cars, and partly (mostly) because of my other interests: Vespa scooters,  Lambretta scooters, and scooters in general. Also fishing (especially shad in the spring), ratty old European cars (just about anything), and ratty old European bicycles fit in there as well. I live in Aberdeen, MD with my wife Krista and son Jordy. He's nine.

The surfing came back almost accidentally. Some friends who surf were heading down to Rehoboth for the weekend and invited me along. I borrowed a board from my dad, and off I went. I rode some crap surf two days in a row, and loved every second of it. Also, my son is pretty stoked too, having recently got up on his first wave. I wonder if he'll remeber it like I remember mine.

We live about 110 miles from Rehoboth going the northern "around the horn" route, as I like to call it. We have a '99 f150 that holds four comfortably and six uncomfortably. We are not afraid to drive.

We will actually be heading to Henlopen tomorrow morning (Sunday), so if you see a guy with a farmer tan, chatty kid, beautiful wife and his father's 10' Bic, that'll be me. Come up and say howdy.

Thanks a lot,
Mark Vermillion
