Club Introduction:
I started surfing in 1962, I had a 9'2" Ole that weighed in at 36lbs.  Living in Fullerton CA,  it was 25 miles to Huntington, several friends and I fashioned surfboard trailers for our bikes as we couldn't get a ride to the beach. Later we found that we could take the train to San Clemente, the round trip fare was $2.25 and well worth it.  Once I started driving, the whole coast was open to me,  I've got good memories of most of the popular Orange County and San Diego breaks.

In the Navy I spent twenty years moving around, but didn't surf much, but I did spend a couple days at Maine's frigid Popham Beach.  I also surfed in Pensacola while I was in Flight Training.

With my sons, we surfed quite a bit in southern Spain in 1987-1990, we also had a few treks to Portugal which was a lot like Northern California. I'm just getting back into surfing and enjoy the comraderie of the ASC. In my day job, I'm involved with engineering management for Navy projects. I also am a part time musician, and play bass guitar with Pocket Change. Other interests include bicycling and car restoration. My boards include a 10ft Greg Noll (1968) which was my board for the past 30 years, I recently got a new 9'10" Nezzy and a 10' Bic (on loan to Mark.)
